Saad Hariri: The Launch of Missiles from Lebanon is an Irresponsible Act

SadaNews: Former Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri stated that the launch of rockets by Hezbollah from Lebanese territory constitutes an "irresponsible act" that has plunged Lebanon into the turmoil of the ongoing war between the United States, Israel, and Iran, without regard for the interests of the state or its people.

Hariri said in a statement that the results of this escalation were "immediate and grave," noting that the Israeli response resulted in a series of airstrikes targeting areas in the south, the suburbs, and Bekaa, leading to the displacement of tens of thousands from their homes in search of safety, and reinstating an atmosphere of fear and anxiety into the lives of Lebanese people who have been worn down by wars and crises.

He affirmed his full support for the Lebanese state and its legitimate institutions, calling on the party to treat Lebanon as a homeland for all its citizens, and not as a battleground for settling scores or implementing foreign agendas.

He stressed that the decision of peace and war is an exclusive right of the political authority represented by the government, considering that any breach of this constitutional principle constitutes an assault on the sovereignty of the state and exposes the country to repercussions it cannot bear.

Former Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri called for Hezbollah to treat Lebanon as a "homeland for all its citizens," and not as a battleground for settling conflicts or executing foreign agendas.

These statements come at a time when tensions are escalating along the Lebanese-Israeli border, amidst fears of the widening confrontation and its impacts on Lebanon's internal security and economy.
