Election Commission Announces Extension of Nomination Period by One Day
SadaNews - Due to the ongoing war conditions and the closures of checkpoints and gates in the Palestinian provinces, which have affected movement and accessibility to its offices, the Election Commission announces the extension of the nomination period by an additional 24 hours. The new deadline for submitting nomination requests is set for 2 PM on Monday, March 2, following the previously announced mechanism: either by personally attending the Commission offices or by sending the nomination request through the published WhatsApp numbers (attached) across all provinces in the West Bank and in the city of Deir al-Balah.
The Commission had previously announced today, Saturday, the adoption of an exceptional mechanism that allows the submission of nomination requests via dedicated WhatsApp numbers for each electoral district, with the requirement that the necessary attachments be completed later, ensuring that citizens' right to run for office is not hindered and that the electoral process continues.
