Gaza Health: What Remains of Hospitals in the Strip Is Struggling to Provide Services

SadaNews - The Ministry of Health in Gaza stated on Saturday that what remains of the operational hospitals in the Gaza Strip, which are struggling to continue providing service, has become merely coercive waiting stations for thousands of patients and injured individuals facing an unknown fate.

The ministry added in a statement that the consequences of the "health genocide" have made the continuation of healthcare provision a daily miracle and a significant challenge to recovery efforts and the restoration of many specialized services.

It continued: The zero balances of medications and medical consumables have made even the simplest pain relievers a luxury unattainable for those facing death every minute.

It pointed out that 46% of the essential medicines list has a zero balance, 66% of medical consumables have a zero balance, and 84% of laboratory materials and blood banks are also at zero balance.

It indicated that cancer services, blood diseases, surgeries, and intensive care, as well as primary healthcare services, are among the most affected services in the crisis.

It noted that the limited amounts of medications reaching the hospitals in the Strip cannot meet the actual need for the continuation of health services.

The Ministry of Health in Gaza stated that saving the health situation in Gaza's hospitals cannot be achieved through temporary emergency solutions that accumulate serious impacts.

The ministry renewed its urgent and immediate appeal to all concerned parties to intervene to enhance medicine stocks.
