Prime Minister: We Will Not Tolerate Any Violations of Law and Order

SadaNews: Prime Minister Dr. Mohammad Mustafa emphasized at the beginning of the weekly Cabinet session today, Tuesday, that the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip need our collective efforts to heal their wounds and alleviate their pain. He stressed that this can only be achieved by empowering the Palestinian government to fully implement the emergency relief and early recovery plan leading to reconstruction, with support from all brothers and partners to reinforce the steadfastness of our people in the Gaza Strip.

The Prime Minister reiterated that the government's approach since its appointment has been one of not tolerating any violations of law and order, and the necessity for various authorities to provide services to our people with dignity and respect. He emphasized the need to apply the principles of governance, transparency, and accountability to instill citizen trust in our national institutions.

Mustafa noted that during the year and a half since President Mahmoud Abbas appointed the government, it has worked to enhance participatory approaches with civil society organizations, some of which have praised the government's approach in development, reform, and governance on many occasions, alongside the government's strategy in strengthening the role of the Administrative and Financial Control Bureau in auditing the work of our national institutions, and ensuring the independence of judicial bodies in following up their procedures and actions.

The Prime Minister stressed that everyone must act with national responsibility, refraining from inciting or spreading rumors and false news in pursuit of sensationalism and confusion, under legal accountability, and allowing monitoring and judicial institutions to perform their roles, which continuously issue their monitoring reports or press statements in line with their competencies.

Mustafa emphasized that despite the significant challenges posed by the ongoing occupation, the destruction in Gaza, and financial blockade, the government continues its efforts under the guidance of the President to develop national institutions and achieve financial stability, especially in light of the increasing trust the international community places in the institutions of the State of Palestine, which was clearly demonstrated in the New York Declaration and the subsequent meetings.

The Prime Minister also reaffirmed the commitment to steadily work towards achieving all national goals, relying on the steadfastness of our people, our employees, and our various national, community, and private sector institutions, with the support of our Arab brothers and international partners.

Furthermore, the Cabinet approved the recommendations of the Supreme Committee for Securing Sovereign Digital Assets, which include: enhancing backups and security measures for sovereign data such as the civil registry, land authority registry, national health registry, and consular registry at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and ensuring the continuation of services during emergencies.

The Cabinet discussed, in a second reading, a proposed amendment to the licensing system for drilling, rehabilitating wells, and extracting groundwater, which would help ensure the sustainability of irrigation sources and adopt modern irrigation methods while protecting farmers from unfair competition.

The Cabinet also approved the decision by the Minister of Local Government to appoint a steering committee for the Beit Ummar municipality in agreement with all relevant parties to ensure the municipality continues to operate and provide its services to citizens.

It also approved the formation of a steering committee for the economic recovery project and job creation, which aims to provide thousands of temporary job opportunities for the unemployed through local authorities, as well as provide job opportunities for people with disabilities.
