Indirect talks between Israel and Hamas begin
SadaNews - Indirect talks began on Monday in Egypt between Israel and the Palestinian movement "Hamas" to discuss mechanisms for exchanging hostages in Gaza and prisoners in Israeli jails, as part of U.S. President Donald Trump's plan to end the war in the sector, according to Egyptian channel "Cairo News".
The channel reported "the start of indirect sessions between the Palestinian and Israeli delegations" in Sharm El-Sheikh, noting that Egyptian and Qatari mediators "are making efforts with both sides to establish a mechanism for the release of all detainees in exchange for the captives".
A delegation from the "Hamas" movement, as well as another from Qatar, arrived in the Egyptian capital earlier today and yesterday, while an Israeli delegation arrived in the afternoon.
Efforts will focus on the process of releasing the captives as well as the Israeli withdrawal, as a first phase of the negotiations.
