The Delegation of the Consumer Cooperative Society for Employees Meets the Jordanian Ambassador in Palestine to Discuss Joint Cooperation
Sada News - Ambassador Issam Al-Bdour, the Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to the State of Palestine, received today in his office a delegation from the Consumer Cooperative Society for Public Employees/Employees' Consumer Cooperatives Association, in the presence of official Palestinian figures.
The delegation included: Dr. Muhammad Abu Awad - Chairman of the Palestinian Economic Council for Development and Reconstruction (PECDAR), Bassam Zakarneh - Head of the Association, Osama Al-Najjar - Secretary, and Faisal Attari - Treasurer.
During the meeting, His Excellency Dr. Muhammad Abu Awad emphasized in his speech that the establishment of the association represents an important step towards enhancing the resilience of Palestinian employees by providing consumer services that help alleviate their economic and living burdens. He also noted that the Jordanian experience in this field is considered a successful model that can be benefited from and developed to suit the Palestinian reality, emphasizing that cooperation with Jordan will serve as an important lever to support the cooperative sector in Palestine.
For his part, the Association's President Mr. Bassam Zakarneh clarified that the association, which was established in 2020 with a license from the Palestinian Ministry of Labor, aims to serve civilian and military employees and retirees through a comprehensive consumer system. He added that the association seeks to learn about the Jordanian experience in managing and operating military and civilian consumer cooperatives, including administrative, financial, and training systems, with the aim of improving performance and expanding services.
Ambassador Issam Al-Bdour welcomed the attendees warmly and expressed his happiness over this qualitative achievement for the benefit of Palestinian employees, commending the idea of the association and what it has accomplished in a short time. He affirmed that Jordan, under the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II, may God protect him, will work with the concerned Jordanian parties to facilitate the association's mission and cooperate with it in various areas, whether through exchanging expertise or training Palestinian staff.
At the end of the meeting, the delegation expressed their gratitude and appreciation to His Excellency the Ambassador for his support and cooperation, valuing the pioneering role of the Jordanian Hashemite Charity Organization in supporting our people in Gaza and the West Bank and affirming their aspiration for direct cooperation with it in the next phase.
