Egypt Condemns "Malicious Propaganda" Targeting its Supportive Role for Palestine

SadaNews - The Arab Republic of Egypt condemned the malicious propaganda issued by some powers and organizations, which aim to distort Egypt's supportive role for the Palestinian cause. It also denounces the unfounded accusations that Egypt has contributed or is contributing to the blockade imposed on the Gaza Strip by preventing the entry of humanitarian aid.

Egypt emphasized, in a statement issued by its Foreign Ministry, the superficiality and illogicality of these unfounded accusations, which contradict their content with the position, and with Egyptian interests, and ignore the role that Egypt has played and continues to play since the onset of the Israeli aggression against the Strip, whether in terms of the strenuous efforts to reach a ceasefire or through relief efforts to provide and allow the entry of humanitarian aid, which Egypt led through the Rafah crossing, or the efforts to prepare and promote a reconstruction plan for the Strip, which has been approved by Arab nations and supported by several international parties, aimed at and focused on saving innocent Palestinians in Gaza and providing aid, beginning the early recovery stages and reconstruction, within the framework of a firm position aimed at providing the means for survival and resilience for the Palestinian people on their land, and resisting attempts of forced displacement, land seizure, and the liquidation of the Palestinian cause.

Egypt confirmed its full awareness of the involvement of some organizations and malicious entities behind this malicious propaganda, which only aims to create a state of mistrust among Arab peoples, and distract the attention of Arab and international public opinion from the real reasons behind the humanitarian catastrophe that has affected more than 2 million Palestinians in Gaza.

Egypt also affirmed that the Rafah crossing has never been closed from the Egyptian side, and that the Palestinian side of the crossing is occupied by the Israeli occupation authority, which prevents access through it.

Egypt called for dealing with caution with the lies that are being deliberately promoted by exploiting the tragedy experienced by the Palestinian people under occupation to serve malicious narratives that are merely part of the psychological war waged against Arab peoples to frustrate them, create discord and division among them, and serve known intentions to liquidate the Palestinian cause.

The statement affirmed that Egypt continues its efforts to alleviate the suffering of the people of the Strip, achieve a ceasefire, ensure the entry of humanitarian aid, and begin reconstruction. It will also continue its efforts to unify the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, ensure the continuity of Palestinian territories, and initiate a political process to implement the two-state solution and establish a Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions and the borders of June 4, 1967.
