Launch of Palestine AI Week 2026: Towards a Unified and Prosperous Digital Future Sponsored by Jawwal’s Strategic Initiative
SadaNews - In a qualitative step that reflects the national direction towards a digital economy and enhances Palestine's position in the field of advanced technology, the Palestine TechnoPark has launched the activities of Palestine AI Week 2026, which will take place from April 25 to May 1, with wide participation from government institutions, the private sector, universities, international partners, and a group of experts from the Palestinian diaspora in technology, under a strategic sponsorship from Jawwal.
This event is the first of its kind at this level in the country, gathering more than 25 local and international institutions, featuring over 30 diverse activities including a main conference, technology exhibitions, a hackathon, training workshops, and specialized dialogue sessions, along with the announcement of strategic initiatives aimed at building an integrated AI ecosystem in Palestine.
The launch of this week is in the presence of the Prime Minister, affirming the government's commitment to supporting digital transformation, enhancing innovation, and creating quality job opportunities for Palestinian youth, especially in light of current economic challenges.
Engineer Alaa Al-Din, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Palestine TechnoPark, said:
"This week is not just a technical event, but a unifying national platform that aims to consolidate efforts among all components of the technological ecosystem in Palestine, from Gaza to Jerusalem to Ramallah, extending to our people in the diaspora. We believe that Palestine's digital future can only be built through joint work, true partnership, and investment in young minds."
He added: "In recent months, we have worked with our partners to build a comprehensive program that reflects our national priorities, starting from capacity building, supporting startups, to developing national AI policies that align with global developments and serve our local needs."
The week will include a main conference on April 27, bringing together decision-makers, experts, and entrepreneurs to discuss pivotal issues such as responsible artificial intelligence, building future skills, the role of universities, and AI applications in productive sectors, along with a special session on the role of the Palestinian diaspora in supporting innovation and investment.
The practical and innovative aspects of the week will hold a central position, featuring a national AI hackathon that gathers youth and developers to turn their ideas into prototypes (MVPs) in a short timeframe, supervised by local and international experts, thus enhancing the culture of practical innovation and entrepreneurship. Winners of the scientific research award in artificial intelligence will also be announced, which attracted more than 40 high-quality research papers addressing real challenges in vital sectors such as health, agriculture, and education. Concurrently, there will be an exhibition for startups and technology companies, providing an opportunity to showcase the latest digital solutions and products to investors and decision-makers, opening new horizons for networking, collaboration, and investment.
During the week, the Palestine Network for Palestinian expatriates in information technology will also be announced, along with the launch of the investment guide in the technology sector, alongside a variety of quality initiatives aimed at enhancing connectivity between the interior and the external diaspora, attracting expertise and investments.
The week will also witness the signing of a series of strategic memorandums of understanding with local and international partners, contributing to the establishment of a national integrated AI ecosystem and strengthening effective partnerships between the government, private sector, universities, and the diaspora.
Moreover, the week features wide participation from local partners who organize a variety of qualitative activities that reflect the spirit of partnership and integration in building an advanced national technological system based on innovation and collaboration.
This event reaffirms Palestine's ability, despite challenges, to build a collaborative model that brings together different parties towards a common goal, which is to develop a strong and sustainable digital economy, and to enhance Palestine's status as a regional center for innovation and technology.
