The Number of Building Permits Issued in Palestine Increases During the Second Quarter of 2025
SadaNews - The number of permits issued in Palestine increased by 13% during the second quarter of 2025 compared to the first quarter of the same year, with no building permits issued in the Gaza Strip during this period. The number of permits issued also saw a rise of 3% compared to the same quarter in 2024, with a 31% increase in the number of new building permits compared to the first quarter of 2025, and a 20% increase compared to the same quarter in 2024.
The total number of building permits issued for residential and non-residential buildings reached 1,637 permits during the second quarter of 2025, of which 1,071 were new building permits.
The total area of the licensed buildings (residential and non-residential) was 807,000 square meters, including 665,000 square meters of new buildings and 142,000 square meters of existing buildings.
The number of licensed housing units reached 3,540, covering an area of 582,000 square meters, comprising 2,968 new housing units with an area of 487,000 square meters, and 572 existing housing units with a total area of 94,000 square meters.
The number of new housing units recorded an increase of 29% during the second quarter of 2025 compared to the previous quarter of 2024, and a 16% increase compared to the same quarter of 2024.
