Jordanian Army Announces Downing of 8 Iranian Missiles
SadaNews - The Jordanian army announced in a statement on Thursday that its air defenses shot down 8 missiles launched from Iran towards Jordan, as the reciprocal attacks between Washington and Tehran escalate.
The statement, quoting a military source, noted that "the air defense systems shot down 8 Iranian missiles targeting the kingdom's territory in the early hours of Thursday," confirming that there were no "casualties or material damage."
The military source emphasized that the interception operation was carried out within the framework of the adopted defensive and operational procedures, preserving the kingdom's sovereignty and protecting its airspace as well as ensuring the safety of civilians.
He pointed out that these incidents will not result in any casualties or material damage, while teams from the Royal Engineering Corps dealt with debris that fell in several locations, securing it according to technical and security procedures.
The source stressed that the armed forces continue to monitor the skies with the highest levels of readiness, emphasizing that they will respond to any threat according to the established rules of engagement.
