End of a New Wave of Strikes on Iran: Key Targets Revealed

SadaNews - The U.S. Central Command "CENTCOM" stated late Wednesday that the military has completed the latest wave of strikes on Iran, executed under the directives of President Donald Trump.

CENTCOM stated in a statement, "U.S. forces targeted Iranian command centers, air defense sites, missile and drone capabilities, and coastal surveillance facilities."

It added that the forces also struck targets in Bandar Abbas, which includes Iran's largest port and key facilities belonging to the navy and the Revolutionary Guard on the Strait of Hormuz.

Before CENTCOM's announcement, Iranian official media had reported that U.S. airstrikes shook the capital Tehran.

On Wednesday, President Trump, speaking about Iran, said it would be "defeated very soon."

Trump added that Iran is very eager to reach an agreement with the United States, clarifying that Washington will decide whether to take such a step or not.

Trump confirmed that he prefers not to set deadlines, responding to journalists who asked if Iran has a deadline before the U.S. begins attacks on Iranian bridges.

Trump continued, saying: "I don’t like to set deadlines, but they know very well, they know the story... it’s better for them to act properly."

The U.S. military announced Wednesday the launch of a second wave of targeted strikes against Iran.

CENTCOM clarified in a statement that: "At 3 PM Eastern Time, U.S. forces launched operations within the second wave of strikes today against Iran."

According to the statement: "The strikes target the Iranian military capabilities used to threaten vessels navigating through the Strait of Hormuz, a vital international waterway for global trade."
