Arrival of Stability Force Soldiers.. Official at 'Peace Council': We Will Continue to Work Without Hamas

SadaNews Translation - The Hebrew newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth reported on the midnight of Thursday - Friday that a group of officers along with soldiers from the international stability force have arrived in Israel, and thousands more will join them in the coming period in preparation for their entry into the Gaza Strip.

According to the newspaper, as translated by SadaNews, a logistical support center is currently being established on the Israeli side of the Kerem Shalom crossing.

A senior official in the "Peace Council" stated that elements of the international stability force have already arrived in Israel, and thousands of soldiers will soon join them to form a buffer zone between the Israeli army forces and areas that will be transferred to the control of the Palestinian committee in the Gaza Strip.

The logistical support center will serve as a transit station for the international security forces, in addition to supporting reconstruction efforts in Gaza.

In the first phase, according to the official, officers from four countries have arrived, and more from other countries will follow, noting that among those countries are Kosovo, Morocco, Kazakhstan, and Albania.

He indicated that the "Peace Council" is in talks with four other countries to send forces.

This comes at a time when Indonesia, which was supposed to send forces as well, has frozen its plans following the war, and is now reconsidering them.

Another senior official said: "Foreign forces have begun to arrive, in limited numbers for now.. forces from Kosovo have already arrived, and we will soon witness the arrival of more countries.. the situation is progressing, and the logistical support center at Kerem Shalom is not the final base for the stability forces, but a transit station before entering Gaza."

He added: "There are ongoing indirect negotiations with Hamas.. days ago, meetings were held for intermediaries with Hamas in Cairo, and we are discussing ways to move forward and at the same time we are progressing step by step regardless of Hamas's approval." SadaNews translates.

He continued: "We coordinate the activities of the force with Israel, not against it.. we have agreed on a plan, and the force will carry out its operations in the agreed areas.. soldiers will enter accompanied by representatives of the Palestinian technocratic committee to ensure that there are no armed individuals or weapons.. this is part of the process, and the technocratic committee will also enter Gaza soon."

According to him, American forces will remain in Israel at the center currently being established in Kerem Shalom, and will not be stationed at the bases that the stability force will establish within the Gaza Strip.

He added: "On one hand, stability forces will arrive in Gaza, and on the other hand, training for Palestinian police officers will begin in the coming weeks.. we are talking here about around 20,000 Palestinian police officers who are not from Hamas.. Hamas is weak and isolated, and General Dan Kin announced in the Senate that Iran is not providing any support to its branches, nor even to Hamas itself.. it is clear to us that they will try to stir up trouble and achieve more gains, and this is not surprising because it is Hamas."

He continued: "It is clear to us that they will try to manipulate issues and set conditions, but we know that they have not received any promise from Iran to receive any assistance.. Hamas is under great pressure from Qatar and Turkey.. the intermediaries support us in pressuring Hamas, and urging it to fulfill its commitments to disarmament.. they have no regional support, and we are currently working on the assumption that we will not receive Hamas's approval.. if they agree, that is great, but even if they do not agree, we will continue to work."
