The Central Committee Holds a Meeting and Makes Several Important Decisions

SadaNews - The Central Committee of the Palestinian National Liberation Movement "Fatah" discussed during its meeting today, Thursday, a range of issues related to political affairs, organizational matters, and movement issues.

Deputy Chairman of Fatah, Hussein Sheikh, informed the committee members about the follow-up on political matters and ongoing communications with the U.S. administration to reframe bilateral relations on clear foundations.

The meeting also highlighted the Israeli occupation's practices on the ground against our people in Gaza and the West Bank, including Jerusalem, particularly the terrorism of settlers, land confiscation, repeated incursions into the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, daily arrests, and the withholding of our people's funds.

The Central Committee called for the expedited completion of the second phase regarding the Gaza Strip and the withdrawal of the Israeli occupation from it.

The committee praised the efforts made by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in following up on some issues to complete the Palestinian-American-Saudi understandings.

The committee discussed the living and service-related issues concerning education, health, prisoners, and martyrs, and the continuation of the reform process and its aspects.

It also examined national entitlements related to the general elections scheduled for November 1 of this year, which include legislative elections according to the basic law until the constitution is ratified, and the completion of the formation of the Palestinian National Council according to the basic law of the Palestine Liberation Organization.

The Central Committee emphasized giving priority and attention to the movement's unity and addressing the repercussions resulting from previous conditions in order to elevate performance to better levels, enabling it to face the challenges confronting our Palestinian cause and confront attempts to marginalize it, whether related to stopping the killings in Gaza or enhancing Palestinian national legitimacy.

The Central Committee made a series of decisions, the most important of which are: following up on political issues with the international community, in a manner that protects the two-state solution, halting unilateral actions, and destructive measures in the West Bank, continuing the killings in Gaza, and reconstruction efforts.

It also decided to refer the issues of prisoners and martyrs to the specialized committee formed by President Mahmoud Abbas, and approved the formation of a committee to follow up on the Legislative Council elections and the reformation of the National Council, as well as another committee to oversee the implementation of the decisions made at the eighth conference of the movement, and a third committee to make necessary amendments to the internal regulations of the movement.

The committee also approved the return of several members who were expelled from the movement, upon their request, and confirmed the continuation of consultations to distribute tasks among the members of the central committee and the commissions, in agreement and according to the internal regulations, with the consultation process expected to conclude within the upcoming week.
