Ongoing Wave of Violence.. Homes and Mosques Under Fire from Settlers in the West Bank

Follow-up from SadaNews: The West Bank has witnessed a dangerous escalation in settler attacks in recent hours, amidst the absence of any oversight or accountability from the occupying authorities, raising the fears of residents of the expansion of organized violence against them.

In the village of Burin south of Nablus, a group of settlers from the "Yitzhar" settlement attacked the home of citizen Um Ayman Soufan with stones, causing panic among the family members. In the nearby town of Qabalan, settlers set fire to one of the homes in the Bir al-Janab area.

The town of Beita south of Nablus also witnessed an attack carried out by settlers from a new colonial outpost established on the town's lands, where they assaulted residents' homes in the Bir Qouza and Al-Hareeq areas, smashing vehicles and windows of the houses. The residents resisted the attack, but the occupation forces intervened to support the settlers and assaulted the citizens, resulting in injuries to four of them.

In the village of Jaljulia north of Ramallah, settlers set fire to a mosque in a serious attack targeting religious symbols and reflecting a systematic policy aimed at terrorizing the population. Meanwhile, in the Atyouf Plain southeast of Tubas, settlers detained an agricultural tractor and a water tank that were on their way to supply one of the families with water, while their bulldozers had destroyed water lines supplying the Basharat family the previous day.

These repeated and varied assaults, from burning homes and mosques to destroying water sources and physically assaulting residents, confirm that settlers operate without accountability or oversight, under the direct protection of the occupying army. The residents believe that this escalation aims to impose a new reality on the ground by continuously pressuring Palestinian villages and pushing their inhabitants to leave.
