Vance: We Will Not Pay Any of Our Money to Iran

SadaNews - Jay D. Vance, the U.S. Vice President, stated that Washington will not pay any of its money to Iran "under any circumstances," just days before the official signing of a memorandum of understanding between Washington and Tehran in Switzerland next Friday.

Vance threatened Tehran in statements made on Tuesday, warning that it would keep its nuclear, military, and missile programs destructive and disrupted if it did not implement the terms of the agreement, noting that he would attend the Geneva negotiations as he attended talks in Pakistan "to see the Iranians' intentions and how serious they are."

He clarified that he and President Donald Trump do not see direct negotiations with Iran as a reward for them, but rather a serious step towards achieving results, confirming that they will remain engaged in talks with Tehran in pursuit of "positive outcomes for the American people."

Vance added, saying: "We fundamentally changed the Middle East whether Iran complies or not," warning the Iranians that they would get nothing unless they make a "radical" shift in their behavior.

President Trump said on Monday that the memorandum of understanding with Iran has been signed electronically, and that the Strait of Hormuz has been "partially" opened, adding that the strait will be fully opened next Friday following the signing ceremony of the agreement, while Vance later mentioned that the president may decide to disclose the terms of the agreement before that.
