Israeli Confusion and American Pressures: The Situation in Lebanon is Resolved Outside Tel Aviv
SadaNews: The Israeli newspaper "Haaretz" revealed, citing military sources, that estimates from the Israeli army indicate the possibility of having to withdraw towards the "blue line" in southern Lebanon, in light of the absence of clear instructions from the political level regarding the final destination for the troops stationed there.
The sources confirmed that there are fears of additional pressures that could lead to a complete withdrawal towards the border, reflecting a state of anxiety within the military institution.
Ambiguity prevails within the Israeli army regarding the continuation of deployment and the positioning mechanism in southern Lebanon, where directives have been issued for the forces to avoid launching large-scale attacks and to focus on protecting the soldiers.
The sources clarified that decisive decisions are still awaiting the political echelon, but the problem lies in the fact that these decisions are being made elsewhere, while Israel is not present at the negotiating table that sets the terms that may affect its security in the future.
In the same context, Israeli media reported that there are restrictions on the army's operations in southern Lebanon, as any offensive activity is subject to the approval of the Northern Command. Moreover, a mission to destroy important infrastructure in southern Lebanon has been canceled twice in recent days due to Washington's rejection of this step.
