Casualties in Ukrainian Attack on Russia's Bryansk

SadaNews - Igor Kovaltchuk, the acting governor of Russia's Bryansk region, said in a post on "Telegram" that two people were killed and ten others were injured in a Ukrainian attack on the border region.

He added that shelling in the Suzimka area near the border resulted in the deaths of two individuals and injuries to two others, while the other seven were hurt in an attack on gas stations in Starodub, approximately 110 kilometers away.

He mentioned that a five-year-old child was also injured in a separate drone attack.

In the Sumy region of northern Ukraine, Governor Oleksiy Grygorov said on "Telegram" early Friday that a woman was killed and another was seriously injured in a Russian drone attack.

Three others were injured in a drone attack in Mykolaiv city in southern Ukraine, according to local authorities via "Telegram."

This comes as the ambassadors of Britain, France, and Germany to Russia urged for direct talks between Moscow and Kyiv during a rare meeting at the Russian Foreign Ministry yesterday, following a summit held in London attended by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Britain had hosted Zelensky, the French President, and the German Chancellor earlier this week in support of Kyiv's call for direct negotiations with Russia to end the war that has been ongoing for more than four years.

The diplomats met with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin.

Moscow had previously announced that the meeting would be held at the request of the ambassadors.

In a joint statement issued after the meeting, the three countries said they conveyed to the Russians the main conclusions of the British summit, including "support for President Zelensky's desire for direct talks between Russia and Ukraine."

In contrast, Moscow reported that the ambassadors were informed about the "destructive" policies their countries were pursuing towards Ukraine, accusing them of seeking to "continue the war against Russia on behalf of European countries and at its expense."

Russian President Vladimir Putin had rejected Zelensky's invitation for a direct meeting between them to pave the way for ending the fighting.
