Egyptian Artist Discovers His Son's Travel with Ex-Wife on Air

SadaNews - Egyptian artist Mahmoud Hijazi received an unexpected surprise on air when he learned that his son was traveling with his ex-wife, despite having obtained a court order banning the child's travel.

Mahmoud Hijazi appeared as a guest on the program "Kalam Alnas" which airs on "MBC Masr" on Friday evening.

During the show, presenter Yasmin Ezz informed him of news reports that were published just minutes before his appearance, stating that his child "Yusuf" was traveling to the United States with his mother for medical reasons.

This news surprised Mahmoud Hijazi, who confirmed that he has no information regarding the matter and does not believe it to be true, given that he had obtained a court ruling prohibiting the child's travel abroad.

Hijazi pointed out that his ex-wife is attempting to overturn the travel ban, with a session scheduled for May 23 of this month.

He explained to everyone that his son holds American citizenship due to his mother, who holds both Egyptian and American nationalities.

During the interview, Hijazi revealed that he learned of his son's presence in Egypt by chance, when he was surprised to see him with his ex-wife in the car next to him, prompting him to take steps to prevent his travel abroad.

Hijazi concluded the interview and later learned of the accuracy of the circulating news regarding his son's travel abroad, expressing his shock through his Facebook account.

He tried to explain what had happened in his post, noting that his ex-wife filed a lawsuit to lift the travel ban but lost, so she filed in another court in Alexandria and lost again.

She then resorted to filing the case at an old address of Mahmoud Hijazi, and indeed won this case, traveling with her young son.

This occurred despite the pending appeal scheduled for May 23.

The Egyptian artist expressed his shock by saying, "Isn't this official forgery? Anyone who understands should try to explain it to me."
