Civil Society Organizations Condemn Occupation's Assault on the "Fleet of Resilience"

SadaNews - Palestinian civil society organizations issued a statement condemning the assault and piracy by the occupation on the Fleet of Resilience, through collecting a petition of signatures from civil society organizations.

They called for the immediate release of the detainees.

The statement in its exact wording:

Civil society organizations salute the organizers of the Fleet of Resilience, which consisted of dozens of ships carrying hundreds of activists from various nationalities.

The fleet included a broad elite of activists working in various fields, including parliamentarians, diplomats, human rights advocates, trade unionists, artists, athletes, and civil society activists from around the world.

These activists express the free will of the fighters in facing the arrogance of the occupation, in defiance of the blockade, and in condemnation of the genocide practiced by the occupation army against Gaza, which continues in various forms.

While we celebrate the spirit of determination and struggle among this fighting elite for human rights and in honor of the banner of freedom, we strongly condemn the actions of the occupation's naval forces, which involved piracy operations that stormed the ships and mistreated the activists, arresting some of them.

What happened should push the world's countries to take measures against the occupying state and to punish it for this crime as it represents an additional link in the crimes committed against our people as well as against supportive activists for it, considering it a case of freedom, dignity, and justice.

Civil society organizations reiterate their appreciation for the role of resilience activists and call for more solidarity campaigns with our people to reinforce their fixed and legitimate national rights in confronting the occupation and its crimes against our people.
