CENTCOM Releases Footage of the Seizure Operation on the Iranian Tosca (Video)

SadaNews - The U.S. Central Command "CENTCOM" revealed today, Monday, that Marine personnel departed the amphibious assault ship "USS Tripoli" via helicopter and crossed over the Arabian Sea to board the ship "MV Tosca" and seize control of it.

"CENTCOM" published today footage of the seizure operation of the Iranian ship "Tosca" on its account on the platform X.

The U.S. military announced earlier on Monday the details of the seizure of an Iranian cargo ship amid the naval blockade imposed by the United States on Iranian ports.

The U.S. Central Command stated that U.S. forces operating in the Arabian Sea enforced a naval blockade on an Iranian-flagged cargo ship that was attempting to sail towards an Iranian port on Sunday.

It added: "The guided missile destroyer (USS Spruance) intercepted the ship (MV Tosca) while it was transiting north in the Arabian Sea at a speed of 17 knots on its way to Bandar Abbas in Iran."

"CENTCOM" stated that U.S. forces "issued several warnings and informed the Iranian ship that it was in violation of the U.S. blockade."

According to the U.S. military's account, "After the crew of (Tosca) refused to comply with repeated warnings over 6 hours, the destroyer (Spruance) ordered the ship to evacuate its engine room, then (Spruance) disabled (Tosca)'s propulsion system by firing several rounds from a 5-inch gun at the engine room of (Tosca)."
