Iranian Chief of Staff: We Will Not Start a War, but We Are Ready to Defend Our Security and Ourselves
SadaNews - The Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi, said on Saturday that "any military action against us will inflict irreparable losses on its perpetrators... adding that we will not start a war, but we are ready to defend our security and ourselves."
Fars News Agency quoted Mousavi as saying: "Any adventure undertaken by the enemy will end in a decisive defeat."
He added, "There is no doubt that the enemies are fully aware that any adventure or action aimed at imposing a war on Iran will not only result in a strategic defeat for them, but will also extend to the entire region, inflicting heavy and irreparable losses on its planners and supporters."
Mousavi emphasized: "The Iranian Air Force is at the highest levels of readiness, and, in full coordination with other armed forces, is on alert to respond decisively, quickly, and effectively to any threat, aggression, or mistake from the enemy, and to deliver a fatal blow to any aggressor."
He clarified: "The Islamic Republic of Iran will never start a war, but it will not hesitate for a moment to firmly defend its national security, vital interests, and territorial integrity."
Mousavi's statements came on the eve of negotiations held with Washington in Muscat.
