Syria: The Israeli Army Reenters the Rural Areas of Quneitra
SadaNews - The Israeli army has reentered several areas in the Syrian province of Quneitra in the southwest of the country today, Tuesday, simultaneously with the flight of Israeli drones over the region.
The Syrian news agency "SANA" reported that "the Israeli occupation forces have advanced today (Tuesday) into several areas in the southern countryside of Quneitra."
It indicated that "a force from the occupation moved from the western Tel al-Ahmar towards the village of Ain al-Ziyouan and established a temporary checkpoint between the village and the town of Kodna."
It was noted that "this movement coincided with the advance of a column of occupation soldiers comprising about 100 personnel, which moved from the western Tel al-Ahmar towards the eastern Tel al-Ahmar, alongside the flight of drones in the region's airspace."
On an almost daily basis, Israeli forces enter Syrian territories, particularly in the countryside of Quneitra, detaining many locals and setting up checkpoints to inspect passersby and interrogate them, as well as destroying agricultural crops.
Despite the fact that the Syrian government does not pose a threat to Tel Aviv, the Israeli army is conducting airstrikes that have killed civilians and destroyed military sites, vehicles, and weapons belonging to the Syrian army.
Damascus and Tel Aviv are negotiating to reach a security agreement, with Syria first demanding the return of Israeli forces to the borders before December 8, 2024, when Syrian factions ousted Bashar al-Assad's regime after 20 years in power.
Syrians affirm that the ongoing Israeli violations limit their ability to restore stability and hinder government efforts to attract investments aimed at improving the economic situation.
