Mutual Announcements of Downing Dozens of Drones Between Russia and Ukraine
SadaNews - Russia and Ukraine continued to issue statements announcing the downing of each other's drones, with Russia today announcing the downing of 24 Ukrainian drones, some of which targeted the capital Moscow, while Ukraine claimed that its forces shot down 50 Russian drones heading toward its territory last night.
Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin announced that 4 Ukrainian drones were shot down this morning, Wednesday, as they were heading toward the Russian capital.
For its part, the Russian Ministry of Defense, in its statement today, indicated that its defenses intercepted and destroyed 20 Ukrainian drones over several Russian regions during the night.
The ministry clarified in the statement that "16 drones were downed over the territory of Bryansk region, two drones over the territory of Kaluga region, one drone over the territory of Belgorod region, and another drone over the territory of Moscow region."
Ukrainian Announcement
On the other hand, the Ukrainian Air Force Command announced today that its forces managed to shoot down 50 out of 80 drones launched by Russian forces toward Ukrainian territory last night.
The official Ukrainian news agency (Ukrinform) reported that Russian forces launched attacks on several areas of Ukraine, and Ukrainian air defense forces were able to shoot down 50 Russian drones in the south and east of the country.
It noted that 29 drones were shot down in seven locations, and a Russian drone hit a civilian facility in the Koryukivka area of Chernihiv region, causing a fire.
It is worth mentioning that Russia and Ukraine have been exchanging near-daily reports for four years confirming each side's defense against attacks from the other without verification from an independent source, given the conditions of the war and ongoing battles.
