Unprecedented Leadership Crisis: A Third of Senior Officers Leave the Israeli Army
SadaNews: The Israeli occupation army has announced an unprecedented crisis within its ranks, suffering from a shortage of about 1,300 officers across all combat units from the rank of lieutenant to captain, in addition to 300 officers with the rank of major in various combat units.
According to military estimates, 30% of senior military leaders will leave the army starting next year, exacerbating the leadership crisis within the military institution.
Data also showed that 70% of reservist soldiers' families are experiencing stress and crises due to the prolonged military service, which negatively affects the psychological and social readiness of the soldiers.
The Israeli occupation army confirmed that this crisis directly impacts Israeli national security, especially with the decline in the percentage of officers willing to continue serving, which has not exceeded 37% this year compared to 58% in 2018.
Estimates from the occupation army indicate that 30% of reservists and regular service soldiers will not join their units next year, placing the army before significant challenges in filling manpower gaps and ensuring combat readiness.
