Teachers' Union Escalates: General Strike in the Next 3 Days in Protest of Government's Failure to Meet Commitments
SadaNews - The General Union of Teachers announced a comprehensive strike from tomorrow, Sunday, until next Tuesday in all public schools, except for Jerusalem, while regular attendance will resume on Wednesday and Thursday of this week, in protest against the government's failure to meet its commitments to teachers.
The union stated in a press release that this escalation comes in light of the government's failure to disburse 500 shekels 10 days after the last government salary was issued, according to the agreement between the union and the government, in addition to the continued failure to pay salaries in full.
It also confirmed that the working days for administrators in the Ministry of Education and its directorates will be limited to two days only.
