Teachers' Union Escalates: General Strike in the Next 3 Days in Protest Against Government's Failure to Meet Commitments
SadaNews - The General Union of Teachers announced a comprehensive strike from tomorrow, Sunday, until next Tuesday in all public schools, except for Jerusalem, with classes resuming on Wednesday and Thursday of this week, in protest against the government's failure to meet its commitments to teachers.
The union stated in a press release that this escalation comes as a result of the delayed payment of 500 shekels 10 days after the last government salary was issued, as per the agreement reached between the union and the government, in addition to the continued failure to pay salaries in full.
It also confirmed that the administrative staff at the Ministry of Education and its directorates will work for only two days.
