Russian Defense: Downing of 32 Ukrainian Drones Last Night

SadaNews - The Russian Ministry of Defense announced today, Sunday, that 32 Ukrainian drones were downed overnight, according to the official TASS news agency, without mentioning any damage or injuries on Russian territory.

Russian attacks on Ukrainian infrastructure have increased recently, causing power outages in wide areas, including Kyiv, Odesa, and Kherson, due to airstrikes on energy facilities.

Military sources in Moscow reported that Russian forces also managed to destroy two assault groups belonging to the Ukrainian armed forces near the town of Kostiantynivka, as reported by the Russian news agency Sputnik.

The same source added that Russian forces also thwarted two attempts by combat groups from the 225th Separate Assault Brigade of the Ukrainian army to advance towards the Oleksiivka area.

In contrast, the Ukrainian army reported that the number of Russian military casualties since the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022, has exceeded one million and 122 thousand soldiers, including 1,240 who fell in the past 24 hours.

The Ukrainian General Staff also stated that it has destroyed 11,248 tanks, 69,010 drones, 42,700 vehicles and fuel tanks, 427 aircraft, and 346 helicopters.

Ending the War

On another note, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky urged his American counterpart Donald Trump to use his influence to end the war, similar to the ceasefire agreement in Gaza.

Zelensky described his call with Trump in a Facebook post as "very positive," praising the success in Gaza and noting the possibility of repeating it in Ukraine.

He also confirmed that his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin must engage in real diplomacy for both sides to reach an agreement that guarantees the end of the war.

Kyiv recently announced that a Ukrainian delegation led by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko would travel to the United States to discuss imposing new sanctions on Russia and enhancing air defense and energy cooperation.
