The Resilience Fleet Approaches Gaza Amid Israeli Threats and Objections

SadaNews: Media sources reported that contact has been re-established with participants on the Alma ship, which is the main vessel leading the Global Resilience Fleet to break the blockade on Gaza, after a brief interruption due to an Israeli naval ship approaching it.

Sources mentioned that an Israeli ship approached to within 5 feet of the Alma ship, the leader of the Global Resilience Fleet, then jammed communication systems on several fleet vessels and caused the engine of one of them to malfunction, before leaving and the fleet resumed its course towards the shores of the Gaza Strip.

According to sources, most activists on board the Alma threw their phones into the sea, following the operational protocol, which stipulates this action when a ship's interception is confirmed.

Meanwhile, the Global Resilience Fleet has announced a return to a state of maximum alert due to unidentified ships approaching without lights from the fleet's vessels.

It was reported that the fleet's management received information about the launch of an Israeli warship from Ashdod port that might reach the fleet soon.

Surveillance drones were spotted flying at medium altitudes over the fleet's vessels.

Yasmin Ajar, a member of the fleet's management, confirmed that attempts to jam their communications are ongoing, and she expects the fleet to be attacked and their ship to be intercepted within hours.

Yasmin stated that what they are experiencing in the fleet is similar to what happened during the interception of the Madeleine ship.

A naval warship from Italy also issued a warning and an invitation for those wishing to leave aboard it, which the fleet's management considered an unacceptable attempt to sabotage their humanitarian campaign.

Last week, Italy and Spain sent two ships to escort the fleet after it was subjected to attacks by drones that dropped sound bombs and irritants off the coast of Greece.

The "Resilience Fleet" includes the Freedom Flotilla Coalition, the Global Gaza Movement, the Resilience Convoy, and the Malaysian organization "Solidarity Nusantara," with over 500 activists from 40 countries on board 50 vessels.
