
"Government Communication" Highlights Key Developmental and Reform Interventions Implemented by the Government Last Week
SadaNews: The Government Communication Center issued a report highlighting the most significant developmental and reform interventions carried out by the Palestinian government during the past week (21/09/2025 – 27/09/2025).
It clarified in a statement issued today, Sunday, that the most notable of these interventions were its participation via video conferencing in an international briefing session involving more than 30 countries to follow up on preparations for the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip as soon as the aggression is halted, emphasizing Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa's call to expedite the enforcement of international will to stop the aggression against our people, noting that the government continues to update its plans for relief and early economic recovery, having prepared 56 executive programs.
It pointed out that the Ministry of Public Works completed maintenance work on the main Jalazone Street and rehabilitating the Al-Karama Housing Road in the town of Al-Mazra'a Al-Gharbiyah, and implemented a project to enhance traffic safety in various locations in the Ramallah and Al-Bireh Governorates. Furthermore, it completed paving a section of 2.5 km of the rehabilitation project for the Bal'a – Deir Ghassoun road in Tulkarem Governorate, funded by the Ministry of Finance, which serves about 180,000 residents in the Shu'raweh area. A section of the Tubas – Far'un road was also paved after it was demolished by occupation forces, in addition to implementing the rehabilitation and paving project for the Tubas – Deir – Ainoun road (Yirza Road), which is a main corridor linking the area to the city of Tubas.
Additionally, the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities began licensing tourist villas according to the Tourist Villas Law No. (25) of 2021, having licensed the first group in Jericho, and illuminated the Ottoman archaeological tunnel in the town in collaboration with the Ministry of Local Government and the Bal'a Municipality, while continuing with the Jericho Municipality to document the mud buildings to prepare a database and effective conservation and protection plans. In Jenin, the ministry and the tourist promotion committee inspected the maintenance and restoration of the Lawibin shrine in Silat al-Dhahr, while its field teams continued monitoring tourist sites and facilities to ensure their compliance with the system and laws.
The Ministry of Jerusalem Affairs held an emergency meeting at its headquarters in Al-Ram with the participation of local government representatives and the Abu Dis and Al-Ram municipalities to discuss the waste crisis, reaching an agreement to end the crisis under the ministry's patronage; the ministry also attended the preparatory meeting for the announcement of the Jerusalem Award for Arab Women in Novel Literature as part of the events announcing Jerusalem as the Capital of Arab Women 2025. It also participated in a joint committee meeting with the European Union to discuss the comprehensive strategy and the document for the development of East Jerusalem prepared by the EU experts team.
Moreover, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates held a virtual meeting with the UN Special Rapporteur to discuss documenting occupation violations, reaffirming Palestine's support for her legal reports, and a press conference on diplomatic efforts to stop genocide and displacement, resist annexation and terminate occupation, along with communications with foreign ministers to garner recognition of the Palestinian state as a step to protect the two-state solution and obligate Israel to international law. The minister also participated in more than 20 media interviews ahead of the United Nations General Assembly, addressing the challenges and the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Gaza, while ambassadors abroad intensified their movements to support the recognition of the State of Palestine and uphold Palestinian rights.
The Ministry of Education and Higher Education completed maintenance and rehabilitation of five schools funded by Global Vision worth $100,000 (Kafr Qaddum/Qalqilya, Kifl Haris, Mas'ha, Qira Secondary Mixed, and Surta Basic Mixed/Silfit), signed contracts for the construction, expansion, and finishing of three schools amounting to 16 classrooms and kindergarten worth $2,680,000 (Beit Iba, Attara Secondary School for Girls, Deir Ammar Secondary Mixed), and solicited bids for engineering services to supervise schools worth $100,000 (Burqa/Ramallah, expansion of Beit Iba). Additionally, the minister signed an agreement with a UNESCO representative to support higher education specifically in Gaza, and the ministry announced scholarships in Turkey for 2025-2026 as well as the secondary education examination program in Gaza (the first session 2025 – year of birth 2007) scheduled for October 6.
The safety patrols of the Ministry of Transport carried out campaigns that resulted in seizing 80 scrapped vehicles, 45 public vehicle operating licenses, 20 driving licenses, and locating 25 vehicles with obnoxious amplifiers, in addition to seizing an unregistered vehicle and one not cleared by customs, as well as removing 1,034 vehicles for their danger on the roads, and inspecting the seized vehicles. They also inspected 800 public vehicles to ensure their technical and legal safety, 120 traffic establishments, followed up on complaints related to public vehicles, amplifiers, and drifting, and recorded 15 vehicles operating without plates. An intensive campaign was executed in Silfit, Qalqilya, Ramallah, Al-Bireh, and Shu'raweh in Tulkarem and Jericho to regulate traffic conditions, with heightened scrutiny on government vehicles and their inspection and maintenance in specialized workshops, referring some for sale to reduce expenses.
Blood bank teams continued the eighth round of the "Our Blood is One" campaign to collect blood units for the wounded and sick in Gaza. The Minister of Health issued an urgent appeal to the international community and humanitarian organizations to halt the aggression, protect the Palestinian health system, ensure the delivery of aid, support the staff, and safeguard hospitals. The ministry signed an agreement with the World Health Organization with the support of the Japanese government worth $5.86 million to strengthen essential health services in Gaza and the West Bank, which includes emergency supplies, training emergency teams, and rehabilitating facilities. The Ministry has organized the work of medical referral committees to regulate service delivery and facilitate patients' access to treatments not available in government hospitals. A meeting was also held to establish a national program for localizing bone marrow transplant services within Palestine in cooperation with national hospitals to ease patients' burdens. The Minister of Health discussed the urgent health situation with a UNICEF representative and ways to enhance cooperation and humanitarian support. The ministry concluded training courses in primary trauma care to build the capacities of medical and nursing staff. A series of informative workshops on international health regulations was concluded with the participation of over 130 doctors to enhance early disease detection and improve the healthcare system's readiness.
The Minister of Women's Affairs participated in regional and international conferences in Baghdad and Jordan regarding violence and gender justice, meeting with the Palestinian community in Iraq, while the ministry organized an awareness meeting for its employees.
The Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs continued its religious and social efforts, graduating dozens of students from Quran memorization camps and the "Knights of the Future" camp, honoring over 220 Quran memorization graduates in Hebron and Qalqilya, and organizing Quranic events for displaced children in Tulkarem, in addition to weekly activities for women at the Ibrahim Mosque, and signing a cooperation memorandum to develop the Shrine of Prophet Moses. The Minister of Endowments also discussed with the Minister of Tourism organizing the work of Hajj and Umrah companies, and the ministry participated in a solidarity visit to the town of Taybeh following attacks by settler gangs.
The Minister of Culture signed a cooperation agreement to implement specialized media and training programs, meeting with the UNESCO Director in Palestine to discuss support for traditional industries and crafts. He inaugurated the traveling Arabic calligraphy exhibition "Letters Roaming the Homeland" with the participation of 70 calligraphers, discussed with the National Library's director ways to document the Palestinian memory, and honored the winner of the Youth Creativity Award for 2025. The ministry organized various heritage and artistic events in the governorates, including folk tales, embroidery and photography workshops, arts and theater workshops, children's creative writing, poetry evenings, and cultural activities.
The Environmental Quality Authority followed up on 11 various environmental complaints, granted three environmental approvals for cellular broadcasting stations and two for industrial and agricultural projects, and conducted 34 inspection and monitoring rounds on establishments. Videos to reduce plastic pollution and an electronic newsletter on the properties of mercury and its environmental impacts were published.
The Ministry of Industry held a workshop with the Electricity Sector Regulatory Council to discuss reducing energy costs and enhancing the competitiveness of national products, and the minister held an extensive meeting with teams to develop services and improve the industrial work environment. The ministry also discussed enhancing cooperation with the Palestinian Polytechnic University to support the industrial sector. During the week, it issued three new facility licenses and two operating licenses for the first time with a capital of 17,300 Jordanian Dinars that provided four job opportunities, renewed 14 licenses, and conducted 21 monitoring tours in addition to reviewing two quality files and forming two technical committees.
The Energy Authority conducted awareness workshops on solar energy in Aqaba and Halhul as part of the "React Palestine" project with Belgian support. A delegation from the Energy Authority and the World Bank visited Jericho to review renewable energy projects. Palestine also chaired the 15th session of the Energy Committee in ESCWA in Beirut to discuss just transition and the adoption of electric vehicles. The head of the Energy Authority also discussed with the Ministry of Local Government the establishment of new electrical lines for Hebron with the World Bank to expedite funded projects despite Israeli restrictions.
The Official Gazette Office, in partnership with Al-Istiklal University, launched the first semester of the second year of the professional diploma in drafting and legislative analysis, organizing a training course in collaboration with the Sawa Program on gender concepts and standards, as well as signing an agreement with the Ministry of Culture to organize legal research competitions and community initiatives aimed at documenting and protecting the Palestinian intangible heritage.
