SadaNews - The civil consumer institution received a delegation from the sister State of Palestine on Monday, 8/9/2025, headed by Mr. Bassam Salameh, President of the Palestinian Cooperative Consumer Association for Public Employees, along with Mr. Faisal Al-Attari, Treasurer, in a visit aimed at learning about the institution's experience in managing markets and providing basic goods to citizens at fair prices and guaranteed quality.

The delegation was welcomed by the General Director of the institution, Engineer Issam Al-Jarrah, and a number of directors, where the guests were presented with a brief overview of the institution's role in enhancing food security and consumer protection, along with a review of the most prominent developmental projects currently being implemented as part of the strategic plan for the years 2025 – 2027.

During the meeting, Mr. Bassam Salameh delivered a speech in which he expressed his pride in the pioneering Jordanian experience in the field of consumer work, emphasizing that this visit comes as a framework for enhancing cooperation and exchanging experiences between the two sides. He also expressed his gratitude and appreciation to His Majesty King Abdullah II ibn Al-Hussein for his supportive positions for the Palestinian people and their just cause, and for his direct supervision of aid provision to the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, and to the Jordanian ambassador in Palestine, Mr. Issam Al-Badoor, and the embassy staff for their efforts in strengthening relations between the two peoples.

Salameh pointed out that the Palestinian Cooperative Consumer Association was established to provide goods to government employees at reduced and subsidized prices and to work on establishing partnerships with the private sector to offer discounts on goods not available in its branches, affirming that the association aims to be a model to emulate in serving the Palestinian employee and alleviating the burdens of living on him.

The head of the Palestinian delegation also presented a series of demands and priorities to enhance cooperation with the Jordanian civil consumer institution, most notably:
    •    Exchanging administrative and organizational experiences and understanding the administrative structure and internal control methods.
    •    Training Palestinian staff through specialized programs in management, customer service, inventory management, and marketing.
    •    Developing inventory systems and branch management and ensuring the stability and efficiency of goods.
    •    Cooperating in the field of digital and technical services, including mobile applications and electronic databases.

    •    Benefiting from Jordanian consumer awareness programs in education campaigns and consumer protection.
    •    Establishing sustainable long-term partnerships that include training, technical support, and exchange of experiences.

The visit included a field tour in the institution's market in Ain Ghazal and the Al-Jabha branch, during which the delegation observed the work mechanisms within the market and the systems of internal control. The delegation praised the institution's achievements in improving its services and meeting the needs of citizens, affirming that this experience represents a model that can be built upon to enhance food security and support social stability in Palestine.
