The White House Denounces 'Foreign Intervention Operations' Following Article on Witkoff
SadaNews - On Friday, the White House condemned a "foreign intervention operation" after the News website "Politico", which is affiliated with the German group "Axel Springer", published an article about Steve Witkoff, the U.S. special envoy for major diplomatic issues under President Donald Trump.
U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance wrote on the platform "X": "This article published in (Politico) is journalistic malpractice. More than that: it is a foreign intervention operation aimed at harming the government and one of its prominent members," according to Agence France-Presse.
On the same platform, White House Deputy Chief of Staff James Blair denounced "a foreign intervention carried out by a media outlet controlled by Germany," while Taylor Budovich, a close advisor to the U.S. president, described the site "Politico" as "a propaganda machine under foreign control."
"Politico" reported that "Witkoff’s unilateral approach has repeatedly led to mistakes with Russia."
The site quoted an unnamed source who said about Witkoff, who led mediation missions in the Gaza war and the conflict in Ukraine: "His lack of experience is evident."
Steve Witkoff has met with Russian President Vladimir Putin several times in Moscow, and their latest meeting led to a summit on August 15 between President Putin and Donald Trump in Alaska, but it did not result in any concrete announcement regarding a peace plan.
