Emergency Committee of the Holy Family Church in Gaza Decides to Stay in the Church and Not Evacuate

Sada News - The Emergency Committee of the Holy Family Church in Gaza City decided this evening, Wednesday, to remain in the church to support the priests and nuns in continuing to care for and serve all those who will remain inside the church complex in the Gaza Strip.

The committee stated in a statement: Based on what was mentioned in the joint statement issued by the Latin Patriarchate in Jerusalem and the Patriarchate of the Greek Orthodox in Jerusalem, the Emergency Committee of the Holy Family Church decided to stay in the church and continue its work, in order to support the priests and nuns in continuing to care for and serve all those who will remain inside the church complex.

The committee emphasized that this statement is the decision of the emergency committee of the Holy Family Church, adding that it reiterates what was stated, "As is the case for the rest of the residents of Gaza City, the refugees who have taken shelter within the walls of these two complexes will have to decide what to do according to their conscience."

The committee confirmed that since the first day of the war, it has been working diligently to serve the displaced inside the church and the community outside it, and it has not hesitated until this moment to be at the forefront of service, and in the field of supporting the church and the community under all circumstances.

It renewed its support for the church, hand in hand with the priests and nuns for the common good of the community.
