Appointment of Engineer Mohamed Awartani as CEO of "Taqa" Company

Economy SadaNews - The board of directors of "Taqa" Company announced the appointment of Engineer Mohamed Awartani as its CEO, who will lead the company in implementing its strategy to develop renewable energy projects in Palestine.

Engineer Awartani has over fifteen years of experience in the renewable energy sector at both international and local levels, during which he held several positions, the latest of which was at Masdar, a subsidiary of the Palestinian Investment Fund, as the Director of Solar Energy Projects.

Engineer Awartani holds a bachelor's degree from the United States and a master's degree from the United Kingdom.

"Taqa" Company is one of the leading Palestinian companies in the field of clean energy, recently established in partnership between the Palestinian Investment Fund (through Masdar), the Palestine Bank Group, and the Arab Palestinian Investment Company (APIC), to be the developmental arm aimed at enhancing electricity production from local sources and reducing reliance on imported energy.

"Taqa" Company will finance and implement medium and large-sized clean energy generation stations, contributing to increasing the share of renewable energy sources within the total local consumption and reducing reliance on imported energy.

These projects will help lower the cost of imported electricity, positively affecting the national economy by reducing the trade deficit and alleviating the financial burdens resulting from imports.
