Six Injured in Russian Attack on Ukrainian Capital Kyiv
SadaNews - A Russian missile attack targeting the Ukrainian capital Kyiv resulted in six injuries on Saturday, as Moscow escalates its attacks on the city.
Moscow has been regularly launching missile and drone strikes on Kyiv since its invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
However, its use of hypersonic ballistic missiles has posed a challenge to Ukrainian air defense systems, as the explosion of a missile this week in the skies over Kyiv awoke sleeping residents before the alarm sirens went off.
Timur Takatchenko, head of the military administration in Kyiv, wrote on Telegram, "The number of injured in the capital has risen to six."
Takatchenko had earlier confirmed that Russia was "carrying out a missile attack on the capital," urging residents to "stay in safe places."
He noted that three people were hospitalized while three received treatment at the scene, without providing further details.
These attacks came a day after Ukraine launched drone strikes targeting oil refineries in southern Russia as part of Kyiv's strategy to target Russian energy infrastructure.
