Gaza Health: Remaining Vehicles No Longer Fit for Daily Needs
SadaNews - The Ministry of Health in Gaza announced on Saturday that the remaining vehicles for transport and emergency services have become unfit to meet daily needs.
The ministry explained in a statement that 70% of these vehicles are out of service due to direct targeting, or the accumulation of technical faults and the unavailability of spare parts.
It indicated that there is a real difficulty in meeting transport needs for both patients and health personnel, given the lack of safe transport alternatives.
It stated that the continued ban on the entry of tires and spare parts may lead to a complete paralysis of the transport system.
Additionally, the buses belonging to transport companies contracted with the Ministry of Health are now operating under difficult mechanical conditions as routine maintenance procedures have ceased for months due to the unavailability of spare parts.
The Ministry of Health warned of the repercussions of halting transport services and the impact this will have on the access of medical personnel and patients to places providing healthcare.
