CNN: America does not want Israel to join in striking Iran
SadaNews - The administration of U.S. President Donald Trump fears losing control over the conflict with Iran, which is why it does not want Israel to participate in the new wave of strikes on Iran, according to "CNN" citing two Israeli sources.
According to one of the channel's sources, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu wishes to join the U.S. strikes, but Washington currently opposes Israel's involvement in the combat actions.
Another source told "CNN" that Israel believes Trump does not want to return to a full-scale war, and that the most he might agree to is resuming the maritime blockade on Iranian ports.
The White House has not commented on this information so far.
Previously, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz stated that the Israeli army is prepared to resume military operations against Iran independently if necessary.
In the same context, the Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation (KAN) reported on Friday that some Israeli officials wish to join the U.S. strikes on Iran, a move that would mean a complete return to war.
According to "KAN", the Israeli officials, whose names were not disclosed in the report, are waiting for the green light from Trump to join the strikes after two days of military escalation between the U.S. and Iran.
The report, whose source was not mentioned, indicates that Israeli officials expect the mutual attacks between the U.S. and Iran to continue in the coming days.
Similarly, the American newspaper "New York Post" cited an Israeli source saying that his country is interested in joining future strikes and "resuming the war in full".
On Wednesday, Trump announced the end of the memorandum of understanding and ceasefire with Iran and ordered two rounds of airstrikes, focusing on reopening the Strait of Hormuz, while remaining keen to avoid returning to a full-scale war.
