Mojtaba Khamenei Vows to Avenge His Father

SadaNews - On Saturday, Iranian leader Mojtaba Khamenei stated that what he described as "avenging the blood of the martyr leader Ali Khamenei (his father) and all the martyrs of the two wars" is a demand of the Iranian people, emphasizing that its realization "will undoubtedly take place."

Mojtaba Khamenei added in a written message on the occasion of the funeral and burial ceremonies of the late leader Ali Khamenei in Mashhad last Thursday, that the Iranians "commit to the leader Ali Khamenei to continue his path and adhere to the course he charted." He further stated that "revenge against the criminal murderers and the shameless is a duty, and it is a demand of the Iranian nation that must be fulfilled."

He added that "the individuals responsible for these crimes are known by name," considering that they "will not enjoy a peaceful death," and that the execution of this path "does not depend on the presence of his or other officials," as stated in the written message.

He noted that "this goal will be achieved whether they are present or not," adding that "the free people of the world will soon contribute, each in their own way, to the implementation of part of this mission."

In another part of the message, the Iranian leader expressed gratitude for what he described as the "historic presence of tens of millions" in the funeral ceremonies held in Iranian and Iraqi cities, foremost among them Tehran, Qom, Najaf, Karbala, and Mashhad, considering that this participation reflected a broad level of popular support.

Mojtaba Khamenei, who was appointed as the Supreme Leader of the country in early March, was absent from the funeral of his father, and he has not appeared in the media since his father's home was targeted, resulting in injuries from the opening strikes by the United States and Israel on Tehran on February 28.

The issue of "revenge" has recently arisen after Israel revealed that it informed US President Donald Trump of an Iranian plan to assassinate him, to which Trump responded by threatening Iran with complete destruction if the Iranian regime carried out its threat to assassinate him, stating that he had issued an open order to the US military in this regard.

Trump wrote on his platform "Truth Social": "There are 1,000 missiles aimed and locked onto Iran, and thousands more will immediately follow if the Iranian government carries out its threat – made worldwide – to assassinate or attempt to assassinate the current US president, that is, me!".

He added: "Orders have already been issued, and the US military is fully prepared and capable - for one year, extendable - to eradicate and completely destroy all of Iran."

CNN reported that "informed sources" indicated that Israel had briefed the United States on intelligence information suggesting that Iran had recently devised a new plan to assassinate Trump.

The network noted that the details of the potential plot warned about by Israel were not immediately clear, nor was it clear whether the United States had monitored it independently of the Israeli warning or had verified it itself.

The network viewed that the revelation of Israel's warning of a potential Iranian plot to assassinate Trump adds a new dimension to the tensions amid the pressures facing the ceasefire agreement between Washington and Tehran.

The sources mentioned that the warning came this week and that the US had been continuously receiving intelligence information over the past weeks regarding potential plans to assassinate Trump, but the Israeli warning was new and related to a specific conspiracy.

Two informed sources told the network that the intelligence community is monitoring several parties that discussed launching attacks without taking actual action, with concerns among US intelligence agencies about the possibility of Iran targeting a number of current and former high-ranking officials.
