Occupation police detain local authority head for investigation into corruption allegations

SadaNews - The Fraud Investigation Unit of "Lahav 433" announced the detention of a local authority head for questioning, over suspicions of his involvement in corruption cases, following the conclusion of a secret investigation based on information received by the police.

The police claimed in a statement that the investigation entered its public phase this morning, Monday, during which the mayor was detained for questioning, coinciding with search operations being carried out at his home and the local authority's headquarters.

They added that the investigations also involved summoning several senior officials of the local authority to provide their testimonies while police forces continue to carry out investigative and enforcement procedures at several sites within the local council's jurisdiction, as part of the ongoing investigation to uncover its circumstances.
