Doctors Suspend Escalation and Return to Government-Approved Reduction System
SadaNews - The Doctors' Union decided to stop the implementation of the latest statement issued on 9/5/2026 and return to work under the government-approved reduction system. This decision was based on the results of lengthy dialogues held with the government.
The union continued in its statement: "While the Doctors' Union reaffirms its commitment to the rights and just demands of doctors, it also emphasizes that the difficult and extraordinary circumstances faced by our people, under the systematic targeting by the occupation of our national institutions aimed at undermining and weakening their ability to fulfill their duties towards the Palestinian people, particularly the continued detention of clearance funds and the resulting severe financial crisis faced by various national institutions, necessitate that everyone bears their national and professional responsibilities to thwart the occupation's plans."
It stated: "The union confirms that this step does not mean a retreat from the rights and just demands, but rather comes to provide an opportunity to complete the implementation of what was agreed upon during the dialogues with the government, which we call upon to fully and seriously commit to what has been reached."
