Al-Zaarir Challenges the Results of the Central Committee Elections of 'Fatah': We Were Not Given the Opportunity to Verify the Counting
SadaNews - The candidate for the elections of the Central Committee of the Fatah Movement at the Eighth Conference, Fahmi Al-Zaarir, announced that he has filed a legal challenge and objection to the election results, asserting that this step was taken "in loyalty to all those who trusted my abilities, and in defense of their will and trust", and not out of desire for any position or gain.
Al-Zaarir explained in a press statement that he was not given the opportunity to review the counting processes or the records and totals in any of the conference halls, considering that what occurred "has returned us to a phase of secret counting and procedures for compiling each center, ballot box, and hall".
He added that the lack of transparency and the failure to enable candidates to monitor the counting processes and verify them "as they were out of the sight and hearing of the candidates" led him to exercise his legal right to file the challenge, emphasizing that this comes from his duty towards those who granted him their votes and trust.
Al-Zaarir confirmed that the challenge aims solely to reach the truth and ensure the integrity of the procedures, calling for a review of the counting results in his presence or with the presence of a representative, to ensure transparency and dispel doubts.
He concluded by saying: "Your love and trust is my national capital, and without it, any position has no value, and those who relinquish their rights do not deserve them."
