Iran Talks of American "Flexibility" After Its Revised Proposal to End the War

SadaNews - Iran spoke of "American flexibility" in ongoing discussions, including those related to the nuclear program limits, after it submitted a revised proposal comprising 14 points. It noted that the proposal calls for a permanent end to the war, lifting sanctions, reopening the Strait of Hormuz, and releasing all frozen funds, according to a source cited by "Reuters" from Iran.

An Iranian source close to the negotiating team stated that Tehran delivered a new text consisting of 14 points through the Pakistani mediator, focusing on negotiations to end the war and confidence-building measures from the American side. Meanwhile, Iranian television reported that the Strait of Hormuz remains under the control of naval forces, and there are 1,500 ships waiting for transit permission.

The Supreme National Security Council of Iran announced on Monday the formation of a new authority to manage the Strait of Hormuz, which Tehran has effectively closed and is trying to impose fees on ships passing through, following the war launched against it by the United States and Israel. The council shared a post via its official account on the "X" platform, stating that the "Persian Gulf Authority" would provide "immediate updates on operations in the Strait of Hormuz and the latest developments." The post was also shared by the naval force account of the Revolutionary Guard.

Political and diplomatic developments related to the Iranian file continue amid escalating American threats and intensified regional and international communications, aimed at containing the escalation and preventing the collapse of the fragile truce in the region.
