The Preliminary Official Results of the Elections for the Members of the Central Committee and the Revolutionary Council of the Fatah Movement
SadaNews - The presidency of the eighth general conference of the Palestinian National Liberation Movement "Fatah" announced today, Tuesday, the preliminary official results of the elections for the members of the Central Committee and the Revolutionary Council of the movement.
The presidency of the eighth conference of "Fatah" clarified in a press conference held in the Ahmed Al-Shukairy hall at the presidency's headquarters that the voter turnout rate for the elections of the Central Committee and the Revolutionary Council in the four arenas (Ramallah, Gaza, Lebanon, Cairo) reached 94.64%. The number of conference members was 2,595, with 59 candidates competing for 18 seats in the Central Committee and 450 members competing for 80 seats in the Revolutionary Council.
The activities of the eighth general conference of the "Fatah" movement commenced last Thursday, with the participation of President Mahmoud Abbas and the presence of ambassadors and members of the diplomatic corps accredited to the State of Palestine, in addition to religious leaders and representatives of national factions and civil society institutions.
