Ma'ariv: Hezbollah Engages in Guerrilla Warfare
Translation by SadaNews - The Hebrew newspaper Ma'ariv reported on Friday that Hezbollah is relying on guerrilla warfare tactics in its attacks on Israeli forces, particularly depending on drones that operate using fiber optics.
According to the newspaper, as translated by SadaNews, the Israeli army does not have a tactical solution to counter the threat posed by these drones, just as it initially lacked a solution to counter the fire from anti-tank rockets in the frontline positions in southern Lebanon.
It noted that a soldier was killed yesterday and 15 others were injured, 12 of whom were inside Israeli territory, in attacks by suicide drones targeting them.
The newspaper praised the decision of the Chief of Staff of the Israeli army, Eyal Zamir, to reduce the number of troops present in southern Lebanon to avoid being targeted.
It indicated that the use of lasers is a partial and complex solution, and there are not enough manufactured systems, nor sufficient personnel to operate them. It is unlikely that lasers will provide cover for ground troops, since the drones fly at altitudes below radar detection, thereby highlighting the issue of monitoring and interception.
The newspaper claims that Hezbollah is now under severe pressure, having lost more than a thousand of its members, and witnessing how the Israeli army is destroying villages in southern Lebanon and displacing their residents. It has come to realize that it is on the brink of collapse, which is why it is doing everything it can to halt the movements of the Israeli army in Lebanon, in addition to the diplomatic efforts led by U.S. President Donald Trump between Israel and the Lebanese government to obstruct its advance.
Ma'ariv concluded that the problem lies in the current Israeli security policy, which stated should shift from demolishing buildings to precise operations targeting high-ranking officials in Hezbollah, such as Naeem Qassem, drones importers, technicians, and those responsible for their maintenance, questioning who can stop such operations.
