Houthis: The decision to participate in the war will be an independent Yemeni one
SadaNews - Three officials from the Ansar Allah (Houthis) group confirmed that any decision regarding involvement in the war alongside Iran against the United States and Israel "will be a purely independent Yemeni decision and will not be dictated by Tehran".
At the same time, Western intelligence reported that Russia is nearing the dispatch of drones to support Iran amidst the ongoing war.
Sources explained that the Houthi group has historically and religiously supported Iran, but has not yet participated in the conflict against the United States and Israel, noting that supply lines between Tehran and the group remain largely unaffected by the war.
Iranian channel "Press TV" confirmed that the Houthis are in a state of maximum alert, while retaining military capabilities that enable them to act when necessary to support their allies in the region.
The source pointed to Iran's ability to pose a strategic threat in the Bab al-Mandab strait and control navigation in the Red Sea when needed, reviewing the Houthis' previous ability to disrupt navigation and assert their presence in the vital maritime passage.
Financial Times: Moscow offers intelligence and humanitarian support to Iran amid reports of potential military aid
In the same context, the Financial Times reported that Russia has begun preparing incremental shipments including drones, medicines, and food supplies to Iran, as part of Moscow's efforts to support Tehran, following U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran on February 28, with these shipments expected to be completed by the end of March.
The newspaper reported that Russia provided intelligence support to Tehran, which included satellite imagery and targeting data, which a Western official considered an indication of Russian intervention that goes beyond enhancing military capabilities to include support for the political stability of the Iranian regime.
The newspaper added that sending drones would be the first evidence of Moscow's readiness to provide direct military support to Iran since the outbreak of war, despite the Kremlin's denial of these reports, as the spokesperson for the Russian presidency, Dmitry Peskov, described much of the news as "false," while also confirming the continuation of dialogue with Iranian leadership.
At the same time, Moscow announced sending humanitarian aid to Iran, which included more than 13 tons of medicine via Azerbaijan, with plans to continue supplies in the coming period.
