President Abbas inaugurates the general conference of Fatah youth in the northern governorates

SadaNews - President Mahmoud Abbas inaugurated today, Thursday, the general conference of the Fatah youth in the northern governorates at the presidential headquarters in Ramallah, under the title "From Jerusalem to Gaza.. We are steadfast on our land and we remain true to our promise".

The conference was attended by the Vice President, Deputy Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization Hussain al-Sheikh, Deputy Chairman of Fatah Movement, and Commissioner of Mobilization and Organization in the northern regions Mahmoud al-Aloul, Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa, and members of the Central Committees of the Fatah Movement and the Executive Committee of the PLO, as well as several ministers, members of the Revolutionary and Advisory Councils of Fatah, security leaders, ambassadors and consuls from many countries, religious figures, youth members of the student movement, and guests from friendly parties worldwide.

In his speech, Al-Aloul stated that the Fatah youth is an essential pillar of this movement since its inception to the present day, noting that the founders of this movement were primarily youth, and a large segment of the founding group was at the same age as today's youth when it was established; thus, youth is the foundation of our people's journey.

He added that the approach and idea of Fatah and its youth realize that our struggle is long-term, and that several generations will engage in the struggle for freedom, which we have termed as the continuity of generations. Fatah has institutions for preparing the youth, such as the young boys and girls institutions, pointing out that the youth played an important role in all stages of Palestinian struggle, in construction, field action, popular resistance, and uprisings, from which martyrs emerged, as well as prisoners and the wounded, and they are a complementary part of the organizational structures in the regions and are linked to them.

Al-Aloul spoke about the patience and steadfastness of our people, and the Palestinian citizen's facing of blockade, poverty, aggression, killing, and arrest, emphasizing that we must embody the hope that the leaders, founders, and martyrs had.

He stressed the necessity of restoring the traits and values of the martyrs so that we can continue the struggle, emerge from the current stagnation in the field imposed by the violence of occupation and settlers, promote a spirit of cooperation in society, prioritize confronting aggression, maintain national unity, and thwart all plans to bypass Palestinian legitimacy.

Al-Aloul continued, "Fatah has created glory for the nation, and we must preserve it. We will not accept anything less than our full legitimate rights".

For his part, the General Secretary of Fatah Youth in the northern regions Hassan Faraj said that our people, despite extermination and cleansing, remain lofty like the mountains. He added that the president's presence among us today embodies the importance of youth in the Palestinian revolution and his belief in the depth and responsibility of the leader that there is no future for the movement without its youth, and no democracy without the participation of the young generation full of giving and initiative.

Faraj added: We are here today because the youth are not just a student framework, but a prestigious chapter in the Fatah Movement, the history of the national movement, representing awareness and belonging, a platform for action and contribution, and a space for forming the personality of the fighter, leader, intellectual, and opinion-holder. With their righteousness, all branches of Fatah are rectified, and they are the school that produced generations of martyrs, prisoners, and leaders, this is how it has been and will remain.

Faraj affirmed that the conference convenes in one of the most difficult moments in our people's history. Despite the pain and blood, the youth say to the world that we are here, renewed, steadfast, and the banner will not fall. He pointed out that the conference did not be born on its day but is the fruit of long effort and sleepless nights in the fourteen regions in the northern governorates, where branch conferences were held, and we witnessed lengthy work to reach this day.

He noted that the youth have been at the forefront protecting our people's choices, confronting liquidation schemes, and affirming our humanitarian and political presence on the world map. Today, we bear new responsibilities and draw a new path in the history of the Fatah youth.

In his speech on behalf of the factions of the PLO, Executive Committee member Waseel Abu Yusuf said: This conference is held under difficult circumstances, especially the genocide war our people is facing, and the ongoing risks still present in Gaza despite the decline in the pace of aggression.

He added that the president has always emphasized in all his meetings during the genocide war on the importance of protecting our people and maintaining the independent Palestinian national decision, the importance of the occupation army's withdrawal from all of Gaza, and moving forward to reach a collective national strategy that enhances our people's steadfastness in the sector.

He pointed out that the occupation's evasion of implementing the second phase of the ceasefire agreement will be met with action from the leadership, led by the president, to protect our people, emphasizing the importance of providing a decent life for our people in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank and enhancing their steadfastness.

In this context, MP Ayman Odeh, speaking on behalf of our people inside the 48 territories, said: Our people has persevered beyond human capabilities. The hardest times have passed, but difficult days lie ahead, and we must endure them.

He added: "Every Palestinian must ask themselves why this Israeli savagery, and why does Smotrich seek a severe economic siege against the national authority, and why does Netanyahu allow everything except for the existence of the national authority in Gaza? Perhaps the answer to these questions is what guides our compass in fighting the occupation, which does not want a Palestinian entity, nor an authority recognized by 159 countries."

During the conference, a number of recorded video messages from youth of Arab and global parties, in solidarity with our Palestinian people, were presented.
