Maduro Orders Deployment of Heavy Weapons on the Caribbean Coasts

SadaNews - Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro announced that he has issued orders to deploy heavy weapons and missiles in the region overlooking the Caribbean coast, in response to military movements by the United States.

The Venezuelan state television "VTV" reported Maduro's statements regarding the new defensive measures for the capital Caracas and the "La Guaira" state located on the Caribbean coast.

Maduro stated that he has instructed the deployment of heavy weapons and missiles in the mentioned areas, saying: "There is a comprehensive defensive plan for the entire Caracas – La Guaira line. It has been detailed, street by street, and neighborhood by neighborhood. All heavy weapon and missile systems will be ready for action."

He added, "Thanks to this, we will be prepared to defend the Caracas – La Guaira line and the mountainous areas extending to the Caribbean."

Maduro noted that this plan was not prepared by a team of experts, but by the inhabitants living between the capital and the coastal area, in the communities surrounding the "La Guaira" port and the "Simón Bolívar" International Airport, which is the main airport in the country.

The president reminded that the special militia units, which operate under the umbrella of the "Bolivarian National Armed Forces" and consist of civilians (men and women) who have received military training, are ready to engage in a long-term war if necessary.

In August, U.S. President Donald Trump issued an executive order to increase the military's involvement, claiming it was part of the "fight against drug cartels" in Latin America.

In this context, Washington announced the dispatch of warships and a submarine off the coast of Venezuela, while U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth stated that the military is prepared for operations, including regime change in Venezuela.

In response, Maduro announced the mobilization of forces amounting to 4.5 million people in the country, asserting that he is prepared to repel any attack.

The attacks carried out by the U.S. military on boats in the Caribbean and Pacific, allegedly for smuggling drugs, and the direct targeting of individuals on board, have sparked controversy over "extrajudicial killings" within the international community.

Maduro's Deputy: "We will never be a vassal state to another country"

For her part, Venezuelan Vice President Delcy Rodríguez stated that Washington aims to make her country the U.S. "number 51" state.

This remark was made in a speech delivered by Rodríguez during the "National History Award" ceremony in the capital Caracas on Thursday, where she addressed the U.S. military movements in the Caribbean region.

Rodríguez indicated that they consider Washington's military mobilizations a "threat."

She added: "We will remain an independent republic. We will never be a vassal state to another country. Our people will never submit to the orders of a handful of traitors and homeless pirates, nor to the orders of a woman (referring to opposition leader Maria Corina Machado) who promised to make the country the 51st state."

In defending her country's position, Rodríguez mentioned that Venezuela has been facing a "psychological war" for more than two months.

On another note, Interior Minister Diosdado Cabello stated in an official television announcement that preparations continue to counter any potential invasion threat.

Cabello said: "If anyone thinks that invading our country is an easy task, we will be ready to confront it."
