Palestine Announces Ban on "Roblox" Platform to Protect Children Digitally
SadaNews - The Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy and the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority announced today in Ramallah a complete ban on the online gaming platform "Roblox" within Palestine, as part of measures aimed at enhancing the digital protection of children and reducing the increasing risks in the online space.
The ministry explained in its statement that the decision came after monitoring immoral content and dangerous digital behaviors within the platform, which relies on open interactions between users, making children vulnerable to harassment, risks, and the dissemination of inappropriate content for their age.
The relevant authorities confirmed that they will coordinate with Internet service providers to ensure the implementation of the decision, noting that the ban aligns with similar measures taken by several Arab countries such as Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt.
The ministry and the authority emphasized that "the digital safety of children is a national priority," and that the online environment must be safe, responsible, and suitable for all users, especially the youth.
