Tubas: Occupation Forces Uproot Hundreds of Trees and Destroy Water Lines in Atoof and the Bqai'a Plain

SadaNews - Today, Thursday, Israeli occupation forces uprooted hundreds of trees in the village of Atoof and the Bqai'a Plain east of Tubas, amid ongoing land leveling operations to pave a military road and establish a separation wall in the area.

The head of the Jordan Valley file in Tubas Governorate, Moataz Basharat, reported that the occupation forces have been carrying out tree uprooting operations since the morning, destroying water lines east of the village of Atoof and the Bqai'a Plain.

He added that more than 300 olive and grape trees have been uprooted, in addition to the cutting of water lines that supply 45,000 dunams.

Since the beginning of this year, the occupation forces have been conducting extensive land leveling operations in the lands of Atoof and the Bqai'a Plain, as part of the implementation of the "Crimson Thread" project aimed at paving a military road and establishing a separation wall on the lands of citizens in Tubas Governorate and the northern Jordan Valley.

Initial plans indicate that the wall will stretch for 22 kilometers from the village of Ain Shibli to the Tayseer military checkpoint, which will isolate tens of thousands of dunams behind it, meaning the consumption of the agricultural extension of Tubas Governorate and tightening control over the Jordan Valley, isolating it.
