Israeli Estimates Doubt Reaching an Agreement Between America and Iran

SadaNews - On Wednesday, prevailing estimates in Israel revealed that the chances of reaching an agreement with Iran are limited, as Tel Aviv prepares for the possibility of renewed military confrontation, while seeking the green light from the United States, according to the Israeli Broadcasting Authority.

The authority stated that there are doubts in Israel regarding the possibility of reaching an agreement between Washington and Tehran.

In contrast, Channel 13 reported that Israeli circles believe that U.S. President Donald Trump does not wish to return to a full-scale war with Iran.

For his part, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said on Wednesday that "the confrontation with Iran is still far from over," adding that "the Israeli army is ready to strike hard inside Iran."

An Israeli official also stated that the Israeli army is prepared to quickly return to military operations if the war resumes, emphasizing that this would allow for strikes that were not executed during the previous round of fighting, according to Channel 14.

New Attacks on Iran

These developments come after President Donald Trump threatened Iran on Wednesday with new attacks, accusing Tehran of "mocking our intelligence" in talks aimed at ending the war in the Middle East.

Trump told reporters at the White House, "We will attack them, we will attack them very strongly," adding, "We were really close to an agreement, but they continue to procrastinate, they continue to mock our intelligence."

Trump further stated in the Oval Office, "We hit them hard yesterday, and we will hit them harder today," threatening to target bridges and power stations in Iran.

In recent weeks, the U.S. president has repeatedly stated that both parties are nearing an agreement. He added on Wednesday, "All they have to do is sign... the agreement is fully ready, but they continue to delay, so I say: Well, let’s give them a few more days."

"Paying the Price"

Earlier on Wednesday, Trump remarked that Iran had taken too long to negotiate the agreement, warning it of "paying the price."

This announcement contradicts statements Trump made to reporters on Tuesday, when he said that negotiations for a permanent settlement to end the war are in their "final stages" and could be completed in "two or three days."

The U.S. president's remarks came after renewed attacks between the two sides, with Tehran targeting U.S. bases in Jordan, Bahrain, and Kuwait with missiles and drones on Wednesday morning, in response to American strikes on its territory after Washington accused it of downing a military helicopter over the Strait of Hormuz.
