Photos: Arab and foreign ambassadors and consuls reaffirm their support for Jerusalemites in facing the occupation's policies
SadaNews - The Palestinian government organized a field tour in the outskirts of the Jerusalem Governorate, with the participation of Palestinian ministers and dozens of Arab and foreign ambassadors and consuls accredited to the State of Palestine. The tour began with a visit to the Khan al-Ahmar village and a meeting with the residents to understand their conditions and convey their voices to the world after the occupation threatened to expel them.
The Palestinian ministerial delegation continued its visit to Abu Dis town, where meetings were held with local authority heads, representatives, and security agencies to review the conditions of the Jerusalemite citizens and the challenges faced by the governorate due to Israeli occupation measures.
The governmental delegation emphasized the importance of reinforcing the steadfastness of the Jerusalemites and supporting their presence on their land in the face of policies of displacement, home demolitions, land confiscation, and restrictions on various sectors. Minister of Jerusalem Affairs Ashraf al-Aawar confirmed during a phone call, due to his travel restrictions, that Jerusalem will remain a priority for the government which will continue to support the steadfastness of the citizens and meet their needs despite the restrictions imposed on the city.
Meanwhile, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Faris Shahin conveyed the greetings of President Mahmoud Abbas and Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa to the residents of the governorate, confirming the Palestinian leadership's appreciation for their steadfastness and adherence to their land and national identity.
The ministerial delegation also listened to the demands of local authorities in the Jerusalem Governorate, which included developing infrastructure, supporting education and basic services, strengthening the security sector, in addition to issues concerning water, health, transport, traffic crises, and enabling municipalities to continue providing their services.
The participants in the visit affirmed that the meeting formed an opportunity to convey the residents' needs and sufferings and to voice them directly to the world's countries, contributing to monitoring these needs and enhancing citizens' steadfastness in the face of the occupation's assaults.
